Phew!I took my first tour today and it went well! I had a really nice group of visitors, who were really interested in the island and it's history. I'm doing some more tours in the next couple of days, so I can only get better.
The first activity today was a quick piece of editing of the new shop takings sheet I put together. I tried out a draft yesterday, which worked well, but there were a couple of changes that would make it a little easier to use. Alex seemed to figure it out when she was using it, so fingers crossed the others will find it easy enough to also use.
Next Gosia and I cleaned the strip lights and smoke detectors in the farm house. We then cleaned out the chickens, washed our hands and then prepared the Barracks ready for the arrival of the three-hour trip.
We all said "Good-bye" to Gosia, who was finishing her volunteering on the island. We all gave her a hug and a big wave when she left on the boat with the three-hour visitors. It was sad to see her go, but she was really fun, a good friend.
The last task of the day for me was the cash up of the shop and a quick sweep of the building, to make it look tidy for the trip tomorrow. Well, that's another busy day over and I'm ready for my dinner! Standing By.
